BELL built and later expanded the Nashville headquarters building for CoreCivic (formerly Corrections Corporation of America – CCA). The company is the nation’s largest owner and operator of privatized correctional and detention facilities and also one of the largest prison operators in the world. The CoreCivic building includes a number of attractive architectural details including 17-foot-high suspended ceilings, elliptical segmented exterior walls, an elliptical opening for the interior’s monumental three-story center staircase, an atrium with angled walls and three-story pilasters and circular balconies. The project included the construction of a parking garage.
