Construction Safety Week 2021

May 7, 2021

The week of May 3-7, 2021, BELL Construction participated in the annual Construction Safety Week activities by hosting daily safety toolbox talks covering several pertinent topics. To help keep safety top of mind (literally), we also distributed hard hat stickers featuring the Construction Safety Week 2021 seal in BELL red to our job sites.

Our team deserves a big THANK YOU for embracing safety all the time, especially during the pandemic. Our goal is for everyone to go home the same way they came to work. We appreciate our team members' efforts toward making that goal a reality. And we're proud to have received our highest safety rating in our 51-year history last year. This achievement echoes our continued commitment to building a safe environment for all.

To reward our team members for taking safety seriously, all BELL field personnel who attended every daily safety meeting during Construction Safety Week are able to choose a free BELL-branded tool bag, camping chair, head lamp/waterproof bag combo, or cooler from our company store.

Daily Safety Meeting Topic Outline

Monday 5/3: Be Present, Be Focused

Mental awareness is critical. You can't just be focused on the job at hand, you must also be focused on the safety of yourself and those around you.

Tuesday 5/4: Preventing Deadly Falls

Because falls are the leading cause of death in construction, it is important to reiterate fall prevention strategies regularly - especially during Safety Week!

Wednesday 5/5: Be Relentless

Safety isn't a sign-in sheet at a toolbox talk; it's wearing proper PPE, employing safe work practices, and paying attention/avoiding risks 100% of the time.

Thursday 5/6: Be Safe, Be Well Rested

Safety must be practiced at home, not just on the job. Even things done after hours, such as activities that can cause a lack of sleep or substance abuse, can create an unsafe work environment.

Friday 5/7: Thank You!

Our team deserves a THANK YOU for embracing safety, especially during the pandemic. Our goal is for everyone to go home the same way they came to work. We appreciate your efforts toward making this goal a reality.
