Bell & Associates Construction has announced that Scott McKinney, senior project manager, has earned the Safety Certification for Transportation Project Professionals credential from the American Road and Transportation Builders Association Foundation.
McKinney (pictured) was among 113 transportation project professionals from 15 states and one of four professionals recognized from Tennessee. He is the only Nashville-area professional to be recognized.
The program aims to reduce the 700 motorist and worker fatalities, and nearly 50,000 injuries, that occur annually at U.S. transportation project sites.
McKinney joined Bell in 2013 and has served as senior project manager for the Foster Avenue bridge replacement in Nashville and the Perlino Drive bridge in Murfreesboro, among other bridge and roadway projects. Bell recently achieved the Governor’s Award of Excellence from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
“Job site safety is a priority for our entire team,” Keith Pyle, president of Bell, said in a release. “Scott’s willingness to go above and beyond to alleviate safety risks at the job sites he oversees allows us to remain one of the most trusted transportation builders in Tennessee.”
