Project Update: The Rowen Glenn Center at Brentwood Baptist
Jun 18, 2021
We are excited to share an update on one of our most impactful projects: The Rowen Glenn Center at Brentwood Baptist Church. The 15,000-SF addition will serve as the new home to the congregation's Special Needs Ministry, providing a safe place for individuals with special needs and their caretakers a place to worship and engage in fellowship activities. The facility will house indoor play areas, age-based gathering spaces, sensory and calming rooms, restrooms and shower facilities, a kitchen, and office space for church special needs ministry personnel. The exterior facade is being built to match the existing building for a cohesive aesthetic.
We broke ground on this project in November with a special ceremony. As you can see from the recent video update (below) by Special Needs Minister Tiffany McCollough, the concrete slab was poured in May. The church's pastor, Mike Glenn, and his granddaughter—the namesake for the new facility, Rowen Glenn—were able to put their handprints in the foundation for this beautiful new addition.
Work is now vertical with the structural steel frame in place, as you can see in the photos below. Project Manager Sam Hand, Assistant Project Manager Hank Becker, Superintendent Josh Littleton, and their crews are working diligently in partnership with Hewlett Spencer and HH Architects to bring this project to fruition. We are still on target for a November 2021 completion, and we can't wait to see how this project expands the church's capacity to minister and care for people of all abilities.
