The Rutherford County Judicial Center in Downtown Murfreesboro officially opened on May 7th. The new, 200,000 square foot, six-story facility includes 12 courtrooms, 12 chambers with reception and a clerk's office, eight jury rooms, and separate areas to accommodate judicial officials, defendants and the public. The building also contains 32 holding cells, two separate security areas, an evidence vault, Sheriff's space and an armory. The judicial center is also accompanied by a new, 359-space parking garage.

A Grand Opening ceremony was held on April 25th where Chancellor Howard Wilson, Mayor Ernest Burgess, General Sessions Senior Judge, Ben Hall McFarlin Jr. and county historian, Greg Tucker all said a few words and a ribbon cutting took place. Hundreds of people attended the event and were able to take a tour of the new space.

BELL served as Construction Manager at Risk working with the owner, Rutherford County Public Building Authority, and the architect, Gresham Smith & Partners, to finish the project on-time and within budget.
