Bell Wins Big

Bell is excited to announce that four of our projects recently received awards from the Associated General Contractors of Middle Tennessee (AGC), American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee (ACEC), and Tennessee Concrete Association (TCA).  Each of the four projects won the highest honor in their category.

Franklin Park

AGC, $30-$50 Million Project Category Award: Bell & Associates Construction served as Construction Manager/General Contractor for the recently completed Franklin Park, a 71 acre Commercial Mixed-Use project in Franklin, TN. The first vertical phase of Franklin Park is One Franklin Park office building, a 285,000 SF, ten-story, Class-A office tower with accompanying 1,343 space structured parking garage. This building is a market leader for the area in all aspects and will apply for LEED Gold certification. In addition to the ten-story office building and six-story parking garage, Bell was the Construction Manager for the entire site development package. The communal parkland is highlighted by an outdoor amphitheater capable of seating more than 600 people, waterways, ponds, walking paths, and open fields large enough to host outdoor activities and company gatherings.

Wolf Creek Bridge US25/70

TCA, Best Precast Award: The Wolf Creek Bridge spans across the French Broad River and Norfolk Southern Railway in Cocke County, Tennessee. This structure features a reinforced concrete spandrel arch bridge, and is 629 feet long, consisting of five arched spans. Bell self performed the precast concrete for the project. Its historical significance, scenic setting and strong aesthetic appeal merited TDOT’s decision to invest nearly $9 million in extensive renovation efforts of the bridge.

APSU Governors Stadium

TCA, Non-Building Structure Award: Bell & Associates was the Construction Manager at Risk for the renovation and construction of Governors Stadium on the APSU campus. Due to the constraints of the athletic and academic schedule, construction began immediately following the final game of the 2013 football season.  The project was completed on schedule within the nine month time frame and was ready for the season opener in September of 2014.

TDOT-SR-254 over Otter Creek Bridge

ACEC, Grand Iris Award - Engineering Excellence Award: SR-254 over Otter Creek was a TDOT bridge repair and widening project that utilized Accelerated Bridge Construction.  Gresham, Smith and Partners served as the design firm for the improvement project which included minimal roadway widening, substructure modifications and full superstructure replacement and widening for an existing two span structure. In a one weekend road closure, the existing bridge was demolished and the new prefabricated superstructure and approach slab segments were installed.
