If you have been to the Nashville Airport over the past two years, you've probably noticed numerous changes to the space on each and every visit. Over the past year, Bell & Associates Construction has served as the general contractor on the airport renovations, that have been noted as a tremendous transformation. Our airport has received a new security checkpoint with more lanes and access, more restaurants and even more shopping outlets. The renovations even included a new meeter/greeter area features a relaxed café environment with a performance stage. The new space provides a comfortable atmosphere in the pre-security area where the public can wait for arriving guests or drop off departing passengers.

"Since this project occurred in such a high profile and high traffic area, we wanted to make sure that the travelers experience was not interrupted or impeded by the construction," said Keith Pyle, president. "So we had our crews work two shifts. The day shift worked in the restricted spaces and the overnight shift worked in the public areas and we think this worked quite well."

The first phase of the terminal renovation project represents the first interior renovation in the 22-year-history of BNA's existing terminal, which opened in 1987. Since the renovation project began in October 2006, BNA has welcomed more than 30 new food and beverage and retail vendors; opened a central security checkpoint; and added concourse skylights and flight information displays.
