NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Tennessee, Middle Tennessee Branch, has named Bell/Clark, A Joint Venture, its Contractor of the Year. This distinction is the highest honor presented to a general contracting company by AGC. The Bell/Clark partnership was formed in 2010 to construct the Music City Center convention center. The joint venture team also earned the "$250-500 Million Project” award at the AGC of Tennessee's annual Build Tennessee Awards program.
Larry Atema, Senior Project & Development Manager with the Convention Center Authority of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County praised the Bell/Clark team for their superior project management, "You've been an outstanding partner to us, both personally and as a team. Open communication between owner and construction manager is key to making a 2.1 million square-foot public project come in on time – with a shortened schedule, no less – and on budget."
Nashville’s South of Broadway District has been completely transformed with the opening of the Music City Center in May of 2013. The Music City Center is Tennessee’s largest LEED project. Bell provided complete Preconstruction & Construction Phase services.
The building consists of 1.2 million SF of finish space, featuring a 350,000 SF exhibit hall, a 57,000 SF grand ballroom, and an 18,000 SF junior ballroom. In addition, the Music City Center includes an 1,800-space parking garage.
